CANDY CARNIVAL SHADOW BOX TREAT BAG | with Kathy

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays... I mean let's face it, any holiday that's centered around getting candy... how can you not love it??  Even more fun is candy in cute packaging.  The Candy Carnival Collection makes this easy!

How fun is this little shadow box treat bag?  I cut the bag from the Ring Toss Paper using a metal die in my stash.  I then cut a window in one side of the bag and covered it with acetate. I made a little scene using the pumpkins and moon from the Happy Halloween Stamp set and placed it behind the window using some foam tape to give it dimension.  All that was left was to fill the bag with some treats and tie it closed with some Doodle twine!  And of course I added the little spider stamp... Doodlebug spiders are the ONLY kind of spiders I like!
We would love to see your projects featuring Candy Carnival!  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Christmas Town Gift Bags | with Tya

Are you in need of some cute treat bags to give to those on your Christmas list? Look no further! I  have whipped up a few little bags that would be perfect to hold a treat, small gift or even a gift card! (or all 3!) I love making a few of these little boxes and keeping a few on hand for all of those little last minute gift giving needs!
I turned to my trusty Silhouette to make the gift bags I used this file (Christmas Bag with Handle - Design ID 50336). I also cut a label out of a scallop circle and a regular circle to mount the Doodlepop accents on. Each bag has a different Doodlepop on it. I also used a few tags from the Chit Chat die cut pieces. The tags are tied with some Christmas Doodle Twine and I also added a mini clothespin to decorate the tag.
Here are a few close-ups of the bags:

I had so much fun putting these together and I hope I have inspired you to make a batch of these little cuties to give to your Christmas friends! Thank you for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!

Yankee Doodle Collection: Treat Buckets by Wendy Sue Anderson

Hi Doodlebug friends!  It's Wendy Sue here today, sharing my latest Doodlebug project: Yankee Doodle treat buckets for the 4th of July!  We always have some extra time while we're waiting for the big fireworks show, so I thought these little treat buckets, stuffed with themed goodies, would be fun to make for everyone.  They would also be great for little neighbor or friend gifts too!  No need to wait for dark on the 4th, enjoy them anytime between now and the fun night!

I started by cutting the buckets with my Silhouette.  You can search for your favorite 3-D bucket shape in their store.  When you cut it out, be sure to choose papers that have great patterns on the front AND back because you'll be able to see both!

After I cut out and assembled each paper bucket, I added a strip of coordinating washi tape across the top of each bucket.  Then I cut three of the 4x4 cards from one of the patterned papers.  After that, I just started adding odds & ends, stickers, sprinkles, doodle-pops, and more!

Here's a closer look at the front of each paper bucket:

And here's a closer look at the patriotic swag I tucked in each of them:

I'm excited to share these fun little treat buckets with my little patriotic crew next week. I hope I've inspired you to whip up some fun little 4th of July treat buckets too!

Sweet Things Treat Toppers by Tya Smith

Hi Doodlebug fans - its Tya here and it's my turn up on the blog today to share with you my Sweet Things project. I just love Valentines Day -mostly because it's a holiday that is filled with fun candies and sweets to give to people you love so I thought that it would be fun to do some treat bag toppers featuring all the darling icons and papers from the Sweet Things collection.

Let me give you a little tutorial on how you can make a batch of these for your own.

First gather up your supplies.  I am using snack size Ziploc bags to hold my treats and they measure about 6 1/2 inches by 3 1/4 inches. For the base I cut a piece of cardstock 4 inches by 6 1/2 inches. I also used a piece of pattern paper from the 6x6 paper pad. I cut the pattern paper 1 3/4 x 6 inches.
I also used one of my favorite sheets of pattern paper from the collection - It is called Sweet Nothings and it has these awesome sentiment strips on them that I used for the sentiments for my toppers.
Then I gathered up some icon stickers, fancy frills and other various embellishments to decorate the toppers.

To make the base, score the 4 x 6 1/2 inch piece of cardstock at 2 inches on the 4 inch side.

Next, place a piece sticky strip on the 2 bottom edges of the cardstock.
Now you can decorate the toppers. For this one I added a typewriter sticker from the Icon Sticker Sheet, a chevron Fancy Frill, a clothespin with some white and gray bakers twine and a Heart from the Shapes Sprinkles pack.
Finally, take the backing off the sticky strips. Add some of your favorite candy to the bag and seal it up. Take the backing off the sticky strips and add the topper to the bag.
Here are some close ups of a few other bags that I did up. I had a lot of fun with this line. Hopefully I have inspired you to whip up a batch of these for your Valentines this month. Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Crafting!
