Partying it Up: 3D Unicorn Party with How-To Instructions by Jennifer Beason

Hello, everyone. Jennifer here and today I'm kicking off Doodlebug's "Partying it Up" Challenge. I love creating for birthday parties, and with all the cutting files DB has to offer, creating your own custom party decor couldn't be easier. I have 3 projects to share today, all of which use the unicorn icons from the Fairy Tales cutting file collection.
My first project is this fun centerpiece. It would look great on the party table, but I also wanted to make sure it could be used as a decor piece after the party was over. So with that in mind, I kept the title neutral. But the pinwheels, glitter sprinkles, and rainbow patterned paper all give it a festive feel.
Here's how I put it together.
After laying out my project with Silhouette software, I cut out the pieces in layers. Because this is a double-sided project, the mirror side of most of the pieces were also cut.
I used my Silhouette to cut each piece out of thin chipboard, then (except where noted) the pieces were mounted to foam board and cut out by hand. Once all the pieces were cut out, I printed the mane, tail, horn, face, and ear on white cardstock cut them out and glued them in place.
The base was cut out of four layers of foam board, or you can use 1-inch foam board. Once you get to this point, you can have fun embellishing your unicorn, as you wish. Here are a few close-ups of the finished piece.
Chunky twine was glued to the edges of the unicorn and glitter was applied to the mane, tail, and horn.
Pinwheels, glitter sprinkles, and chipboard stars were added to the base.
A chipboard banner with stitched detail and a colorful title was attached as well.
No party would be complete without treats, so I made some matching lollipop holders.
Below you can see how I created the holders using the Silhouette software.
Once the pieces were cut, printed and put together, they were embellished with glitter, sprinkles, twine and flower stickers.
Here's a better look at one close up.
And here you can see a couple with the centerpiece.
For my last project, I decided to combine the dancing unicorn, stars, hearts, clouds, and rainbow cutting files to create a wall hanging.
This project was made in a similar way to the centerpiece, with layers of foam and chipboard.
I added chipboard stars to the piece with some thin wire.  Beads and hearts were attached to the lower part of the clouds using string.
Thanks so much for joining me today. Come back tomorrow and all this week for more party ideas.   Jennifer

Creative Cut Files: Unicorn Layout by Caroli

Hello there Doodlebug peeps! How are you? This is Caroli and today I want to share with you two projects I made using the most fabulous collection Doodlebug has made so far: FAIRY TALES!

As a lifetime unicorn lover, I've always wanted to scrap about this but never had a proper collection for it... until now. So of course I had to make a layout featuring my awesome Unicorn and rainbow pins by Doodlebug as well.

I absolutely adore the hearts and cloud shaped sprinkles, they are oh so cute ❤ and great for adding an extra touch to any embellishment cluster.

I used some dots to  create a 3D effect along with the rainbow dots patterned paper, I think it looks pretty cool :)

I loved working on this project and have a lot of more layouts in process to document my unicorn love

The second project is this layout I made using pics fro the first birthday of my little girl, 8 years ago.

I used a lot of diecuts and some twine to create a cluster of embellishments, love how this one came out.

I hope you liked my projects and get some inspiration to work with this pretty collection. Sparkly unicorn hugs to you all

Off the Page Challenge: Unicorn Birthday Party by Caroli

Hello peeps, how are you? Caroli here and today I want to share a project I made using some Doodlebug goodness.

This month the Design Team was challenged to make an off the page project and I really loved this idea! Since I'm currently working on the birthday party of my little girl -which happens to be Unicorn themed- I decided to use gorgeous Fairy Tales collection to make some stuff for the party.

First thing I made is this invitation card. I kept it simple because later I will scan it and use it in a digital format, including the party information (when, where, what time) and send it to friends and family.

The card says #Isicumple9, which means "Isi turns 9" and is the hashtag I will use for the party related pics, so friends and family can find them all together on Instagram.

I also decorated some white paper bags I will use to give some party favors to the little ladies attending to the event. I used this cute unicorn crown cutfile and some cardstock and patterned paper from Doodlebug.

Finally, I made some masks, which I also decorated with the unicorn crown cutfile. I bet all the little girls (and probably also the not so little ones!) will love to wear these

Here is the full set. I love how cute and sweet they are!

I am working in some other paper projects for this party, also using Doodlebug Design stuff, if you want to see how the party comes out you can follow me on Instagram, I'm @papelisima.

Have an awesome day!

Fairy Tales Collection: Layouts with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with a couple of layouts I created using the ADORABLE Fairy Tales Collection!  I just love unicorns, and this collection is chock full of them!  I actually have a board on Pinterest with a lot of unicorn quotes so I decided to use a couple of them for inspiration for these layouts!  Here is a look at my first one:

I love this picture of my daughter on the steps of MoMA in NYC.  It's actually a still from a video, but it is her personality exactly!   I thought it was a perfect fit for my title quote.

The Unicorn Clip from the Fairy Tales Cute Clips is too cute!   And the word stickers from the This & That Sheet are always fun to sprinkle around!

The Odds & Ends package is FULL of fun pieces such as this cute unicorn.  I love creating little scenes using all the pieces!  The Flower Friends Mini Doodle Pops were a fun addition as well!  I just love their little faces!  The best is the new Rainbow Hearts Shaped Sprinkles.... I need at least 10 packages of these!!!

For my title I used a combination of Teensy Type Stickers.  I love mixing and matching fonts!
My next layout features my friends and I at a recent scrapbook weekend.  We always bring photo props and this year it was Unicorn horns,  magic wands, and a big blow up frame!

I had some more fun with the Odds & Ends Pieces and the  Rainbow Heart Shaped Sprinkles!

Again I mixed fonts in my title using a few different Teensy Type Alphas as well as some Skinny alphas!  And I had to use the Unicorn Doodle Pop too!  He's so sparkly!

The Happy Skies Shaped Sprinkles were a must here.. I love the faces in the clouds!

This collection simply makes me happy!  That's it for me today, be sure to come back all next week for more Fairy Tales inspiration!  Thanks for stopping by to peek!
