SCHOOL DAYS - WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL TREATS | with Shellye

Whether you're a teacher, student or parent, I have a sweet welcome-back-to-school treat using just a few basic supplies from Doodlebug Design!

For this project, any type of pre-made sack, bag or box can be used.  I've chosen a 2.5" die and cardstock to create this cute mini shopping style bag.  SVG files are also a good place to hunt for cute bags!
After cutting the bags and assembling, I moved to stamping and coloring the images
with alcohol markers. These type of projects are perfect for mixing up your collection of Doodlebug stamps and dies!

The stamped images were embellished with sprinkles and twine.

Inside of the little shopping bags I added clear bags of candy.  What better way to tie off the clear bags than with a twist of washi tape!  To create the "washi twist ties" I used a thin gauge wire (I actually pulled a strand from a piece of wire-edged ribbon) , placed it in the center of the washi tape and then wrapped around.  I also trimmed the washi twist tie to about an 1/4" width.
Again, have fun mixing and matching papers from different collections, as well as stamps to create unique little gifts!

LOTS O'DOTS DAILY DOODLE - SUMMER PLANNER PAGES | with Anabelle

I'm really enjoying using my Lots O'Dots Daily Doodle this summer. The colors are so fun and bright and perfect for these warm, lazy days. Today I'm going to share how I designed an insert to use in my planner. Since summertime is a slower time for me, I don't usually need to write as much in my weekly spread. Because of this, I don't need as much space. I decided to create a weekly format that allows me to write down the important things and gives me some space for notes or lists as they come along. Here's how my spread turned out.

Once again, I am using the Simply Spring collection (see my last blog post) because the colors and motifs are so much fun! I used a blank grid insert and decided to include Monday through Friday, since those are the days I tend to have more commitments. I started off by adding the washi to the middle of the page. Then, I used the Abigail font stickers to label the days. I added some die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack and some Fancy Frills border stickers, as well as borders from the This and That sticker page.

On the opposite page, I added a large sticker and some more smaller ones.  I used the Teensy Type to label my notes section and finished it off with the Icon stickers.
In  order to make some more writing space, I decided to create a little note attached to a large paper clip. I love how it turned out. It was so easy and adds a nice extra to the spread. I used a card from the A6 Paisley Card Assortment. I measured it against my large paper clip (these can easily be found at Staples, Target or the Dollar Store.) Then, I cut the ends off.
I used the center piece for the To Do list. I added some die cuts and used foam adhesive to give it some dimension. I added the word 'DO" using more Abigail font stickers. I just love them. I slid the note onto the clip and then onto my page. I like that I can take it off and write on it as needed.
The Simply Spring collection continues to be one of my favorites for the summer. The florals and bright colors work perfectly in my Lots O'Dots Daily Doodle planner. I hope you found some ideas that you might use today!

AT THE ZOO PLANNER PAGES | with Jomelle

It's been a while since we have been to the zoo. My daughter Juliet and my son Jaden loves animals. Since my family has been super busy, I thought why not create my monthly layout with "At the zoo" theme.
I've used mostly the mini icon stickers since the size of the animals are perfect fit and I also used "this and that" stickers.
How cute is that Lion paper clip on the side of the page? You can also see the elephant paper clip in the photo above. Planner girls get so excited with any cute paper clips to decorate our pages.
My son Jaden turned 11 years old on June 9. It would've been a perfect time to visit the zoo but my oldest son Joshua is in Italy with his band from school. My family is not complete without him so we will plan to go later.
I used the bon bon teensy type alphas and number stickers for the month and the for the words "Jaden turn 11"
These are the washi tapes I used in my layout. The animals washi on top of the page are so adorable. I can create so many wonderful things with that washi, don't you agree?
I'm hoping my family will have time to visit the zoo in the near future. In the meantime, this layout makes me more excited about going. Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you next time.

WREATH CUT FILE LAYOUT | with Tegan

I couldn't wait to use the Doodlebug Design French Kiss collection again because it is just so very sweet! Sure it has some Valentine's Day pieces, but it has so many other general themed elements! Here I used the collection to document my sweet little senior pooch. I used the Doodlebug Simply Spring Flower Wreath cut file to create the fun and colorful background design on my page.

I used the Simply Spring Flower Wreath cut file to die cut the wreath out of white cardstock. I used the French Kiss 6x6 paper pad and Citrus colored Textured Cardstock to back the die cut shape with lots of colorful papers. I embellished the wreath with Chocolate Box Shape Sprinkles, Mini Icon Stickers, and Odds & Ends pieces adhered with foam adhesive. I then adhered the wreath to a sheet of Petite Prints Patterned Paper in Swimming Pool. I used more Odds & Ends pieces (my fav!) and Shape Sprinkles to embellish the photo of my pooch and I.
I used the 'SWEET' Odds & Ends die cut piece for the first half of my title. I used my die cut machine and French Kiss 6x6 Paper Pad to cut out the rest. I added a little strip of the adorable Special Delivery Washi Tape under the word SWEET to add a little color to the bottom of my page. And, of course, I had to use the little doggie Odds & Ends piece!
Thank you for joining me today! I hope I have inspired you to use the French Kiss collection and Doodlebug Design cut files on your next layout!

PLANNING WITH SO MUCH PUN | with Anabelle

It is so much fun revisiting the So Much Pun collection in my Daily Doodle this month. I loved this collection from the moment I saw it and still reach for it when I want something whimsical. My favorite part of this line is the fact that there are so many themes within in. Today, I created two spreads for my Traveler's Notebook. They are each so different, yet all of the items are from So Much Pun! Here is the first spread. I used the candy and sweets elements to design my May calendar. How yummy is this???
I used several of the stickers from the Mini Icons sheet, along with stickers from the This and That sticker sheet. The candy washi is one of my favorites. I love the coordinating papers, too. I used papers from the 6 by 6 pad and added them to the page, as well. The striped paper made a perfect border. I tucked some of the die cuts into my front pockets. They add a really sweet touch to my planner.
My next spread is one that I designed so that I can write notes for work. I have a large teacher planner to do my daily plans, but like to keep my Daily Doodle close by to jot down my to do lists as I think of them.
The grid pages are perfect to do this. As you can see, this spread has a completely different look. I pulled the sweet plants and went with a pink and green theme here. The Teensy Type stickers were a perfect way to add titles to the sections on this spread. I love how the pink border sticker ties it all together.
My planner spreads wouldn't be complete without clips! So Much Pun has the most adorable Doodle Pops to coordinate with the line. The gumball machine is probably my new favorite clip! And since all of Doodlebug's collections coordinate so well, I was able to use this Doodlepop from the Simply Spring collection. It worked perfectly with the sweet plant stickers from So Much Pun. They are so easy to make. I simply hot glue them to a paper clip and add a punched circle to the back. They add so much to the design.
As you can see, I was able to create two very different designs for my Daily Doodles using just the So Much Pun collection. It's versatile! I know I'll be coming back to it again soon.

Farmhouse Perfection | with Jomelle

Buffalo Check Daily Doodles with "Down on the farm" screams farmhouse perfection. I just had to go back to this collection and create my DB Farmhouse TN set up.

How do you like having a fun view every time you open your TN? I always like to create the first cover insert with eye catching decor. For this front cover I knew I wanted to use the jean pocket and layer it with different pattern papers. I used foam adhesive for the fence to give it that 3D look.
How cute are the tabs with label "country" "barnyard" and "adventure" I love how they are sticking out on the side. Little things and decor makes me happy specially with all the cute embellishments Doodlebug has to offer.
I made a bookmark/page marker for my farmhouse set up which also hold my washi tapes. This was super easy to make. I just chose the pattern paper I want to use. Cut it to the size I need and add a piece of odds & ends to the top or side and then laminate it.
I plan to add more washi but I just couldn't find the ones I wanted. I'm sure it's somewhere in my craft room.
Gotta love side the side view. It never gets old.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy and was inspired by my Farmhouse set up in my Buffalo Check Daily Doodles. What a great way to start my new year with this fun set up.

Christmas Town Planner Pages | with Jennie

It's almost Christmas and we're all pretty excited. Except, there's stuff to do, am I right? There are gifts to buy, there are lists to make and there are cookies to bake. So, how do we keep track of that? This year, I've started a brand new hardbound notebook to keep track of all that is going on and everything I need to keep track of this season! Obviously, I needed the help of Doodlebug's Christmas Town collection! It's so cute and motivates me all season long.

One of the things I need to track is the stocking stuffers!  They seem simple but they multiply if you're not careful. So, a page devoted to them is easy - especially with Abigail Alphabet Stickers and washi tape.
Now, gifts?  I usually use a few pages to jot down ideas.  I've got those.  But, once I've finalized the ideas - I need to have a page to add those gifts and who they come from.  The easiest way for me is to do so with a blank page but I like to add a little bit of decoration, too.  So, I did the same thing as I did before with the Abigail Alphabets and the washi tape.  Simple yet oh so festive!

This notebook, heavy on both cute and function, is going to keep me going all month long.  It'll make the season even more festive thanks to the organization and wonderful Christmas Town collection!

Embellishing Focus | Planner Pages by Jennie

I love making my planner super functional.  It's how I get through the weeks with not messing things up too horribly.  I get to our activities and appointments on time thanks to those pages.  However, I feel like we can make them look good at the same time -- while remaining functional.

I really love washi tape.  Doodlebug washi is my most favorite, too.  It's gorgeous and has that smooth texture and just works wonderfully in so many ways.  Washi is wonderful in planners -- it adds as much decoration as you'd like to use on your project.  This scallop washi is just amazing -- so on trend but still wonderful in it's practical use.

I knew I wanted to add lots of washi this week to create a rainbow yet still keep every single activity the focus.
Though I have to say, that doesn't mean you cannot add a pop of decoration here and there.  Using spots that you don't need for function can be opportunities to decorate! You can even add special decorative bits, like the Doodlebug Cream and Sugar Sprinkles that I used here.

Each decorative cluster does not have to be really involved.  It can still be super fun yet simple.  This one is just fun using one of the Doodlebug Mini Doilies as a base for this cluster.

I just love how you can add a couple of strips of washi and a Doodlebug Down On The Farm Cardstock Icon Sticker or two and create something really amazing that can really inspire you throughout the week!

Do you love using Doodlebug Washi on your projects? Would love to know how you are using it?
