6 x 8 MINI ALBUMS - PART 2- WINTER WONDERLAND ALBUM | with Traci

Hello friends! Traci here and today, I'm back to share some of the fun inside pages of my Build a Snowman Winter Scrapbook. (If you missed my cover post, you can see it here.) I designed this with one of the 6x8 Mini Albums in swimming pool and the adorable Winter Wonderland Collection.

This is the first page and it's one of five chipboard tabbed dividers included in the album. I covered it in the pretty purple 12x12 Frosted Forest print and added a strip of the Cozy Cardigan plaid paper on top.

Next, I created two flippies out of white cardstock and 3x4 cards from the other side of the Cozy Cardigan print. I love that these can hold 4 photos on this one mini album page!

Here are pages 2 and 3. These winter colors, patterned papers, and sweet little characters are the cutest.

For page 2, I created a fold-out element on the backside of the tabbed divider. I covered the front of the flap in the floral Nightfall paper and added the polar bear die cut from the Odd & Ends. Then, I created another fun flippie with the 3x4 Hello card and added that along the edge.

Inside the flap, I used the Snow Wonder snowflake paper, a pretty pink die cut from the Odds & Ends, and adhered the 3x4 Let It Snow card to the backside of the Hello card flippie.

On the right, I added the striped Just Chillin' paper, then created a photo mat out of the blue side of the Nightfall print. I finished the page with the adorable moose die cut. ... I just love her sassy side grin. :)

Page 3 is one of four pocket pages that come in the album ready to embellish. I covered the front with the cute snowmen print (Just Chillin') and added the Baby It's Cold Outside sticker from the This & That sheet.

Inside the pocket, I added a few photo mats but you could also save journaling cards and memorabilia here. Add tickets, postcards, notes, invitations, a small map, a recipe, greeting cards, <!--[if gte mso 9]> an itinerary, a brochure, etc.

Here is page 4. It's a great layout for one fabulous photo. I used the Yeti for Winter paper in the background and layered a strip of the Snow Wonder snowflakes on top. I made 2 photo mats from the Frosted Forest print and embellished with some die cuts from the Odds & Ends and Chit Chat.

The album includes 10 assorted clear page protectors and above is one divided into four 3x4 spaces. I added two cute cards from the Cozy Cardigan print and two mats for photos.

I think page 6 may be filled with every one of the adorable winter animals in this collection! That cute background paper is called Snow Cozy. I added 2 photo mats on top and a happy Yeti die cut.

Above is 1 of 4 colorful card stock pages that also come in the album. I folded it in half to create an interactive fold-out page and added some cute Odds & Ends, making sure to leave room for a photo.

Flip that up and there are 3 more photo mats inside made from the polka dot paper called Hit The Slopes and white cardstock.

I hope I've given you a few fun ideas on how to decorate these wonderful 6x8 Mini Albums. Next time, I'll show you more pages from this winter scrapbook. Until then, happy crafting!

6 X 8 MINI ALBUMS - WINTER WONDERLAND ALBUM COVER | with Traci

Happy New Year! Traci here and today, I'm sharing a fun winter scrapbook idea using one of the brand new 6x8 Mini Albums. When the design team was asked to create a project with them, I was thrilled. I'm a mini album girl and use these binder albums all the time. They are fabulous and come in 14 beautiful colors!

Today, I'm explaining how I designed this album's cover. Then, in future posts I'll be sharing the pages inside.

Build A Snowman Winter Scrapbook Album with Doodlebug

For my album, I chose the swimming pool binder. It's one of my favorite colors. Then, I decorated it with the adorable Winter Wonderland Collection making it the perfect keepsake for your snow-filled memories.

To start, I covered the white section of the front with the 12x12 Just Chillin' pattern paper. I love all of the cute little snowmen.

I wanted to create a winter scene so
I cut a snow hill out of lily white card stock and adhered that on top.

Winter Scrapbook Mini Album with a cabin, snowman, cute reindeer, and trees

Next, I chose some adorable die cuts from the Odds & Ends to decorate. I tucked the cabin and 3 different tree pieces in behind the snow. Then I adhered the snowman, the reindeer, and the tree on top. I also added the word bubble die cut from the Chit Chat.

I had the perfect white ribbon with aqua dots so I tied that around the front cover and into a big bow.

On the album's spine, there's a bookplate that's perfect for reference. I added a small piece of the Just Chillin (stripe) paper inside. For an extra fun detail, I attached the Just Charming Clip and Key Chain from the Snow Much Fun Collection to it for the perfect finishing touch.

Look how cute! These 6x8 inch photo-safe Mini Albums are so much fun to create keepsakes with. Their quality is amazing and I love that they come in so many pretty colors that coordinate perfectly with ANY Doodlebug collection. I also appreciate their white covers making them super versatile.

Remember, my next posts will be of the inside pages where I share how I added embellishments, photo mats, and fun interactive elements. Be sure to check Doodlebug's blog daily for lots of mini album inspiration!

ADVENT CALENDAR HOUSE - WINTER WONDERLAND | with Karen

When my girls were smaller, one of our favourite traditions during the Christmas season was spending a few minutes together on the couch in the morning with our Advent calendars. Their favourite calendars were the ones that made it a little bit hard to find the actual day, hidden in pictures or patterns. They would get so excited when they finally found the date. So I knew when Doodlebug released an Advent calendar, I wanted to try to capture that "hide and seek" feel.

  Full-Calendar

I also knew that I wanted to see if I could incorporate one of the most elusive "hiding" characters (and my personal favourite Doodlebug character of all time) - the YETI! But we will get to him later!

  Drawers

For this calendar, I used the Winter Wonderland collection. The papers and patterns in this collection are spectacular - no dull winter scenes here. I mixed and matched the patterns, cutting each door at 2 1/4" x2 1/4" each with about 2 doors for each pattern. I then grabbed the Alphabet Soup Puffy stickers for the numbering. On some of the doors, I used contrasting number so they would stick out and be easy to find (like #1 in the photo). But for other doors, I decided to hide the numbers a bit more by using a matching colour and disguising it in the pattern (like door #22 beside door #1). I really love the way the doors turned out. The patterns are amazing and I love that you really need to look to find some of the dates! Mission accomplished.

  Top-Scene-2

And the best part of this calendar is that you don't have to have any fancy tools to decorate. The scene at the top and embellishments on some of the doors were simply created with the die cuts in the Odds and Ends pack - both the regular Winter Wonderland pack and the Snowflakes pack. Just use some adhesive and you are all set!

  Tree

I did jazz up some of the die cuts by poking holes in them and stringing some small LED light behind the holes. You can see this feature on a couple of trees and along the cabin.

  Top-Scene1b

And then of course, the Yeti! Harry gets to make an appearance here to riding a little gondola to the top of the calendar. I actually took the chimney feature off of the calendar and used it to combine two gondola die cuts (front and back), creating a little box in a rather unusual location for one last special treat. This also gave me a really sturdy way to attach the gondola with a hidden craft stick. I took the picture from this angle so you could see the stick (it pokes down right into the top part of the calendar)...

  Top-Scene-1a

...but from the front, with a special placement of some die cut trees, it looks like it is suspended above the mountain. Some more of the LED string complete the look of the cables. While not your traditional advent calendar, I am in love with this version. If you have a favourite Doodlebug collection, don't be afraid to use it on a project like this. There is no wrong collection to use! And trust me, this will not be the last time you see Harry on one of my projects! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

WINTER WONDERLAND SNOWMAN FUN LAYOUT | with Erica

Happy Wednesday friends! Erica here with you today sharing a 12x12 Winter scrapbook layout featuring the beautiful Winter Wonderland collection!

I really wanted to go crazy with snowflakes on this layout so I pulled out the Winter Wonderland Odds & Ends and the Mix & Match Snowflakes. I started by assembling 3 of the large Mix & Match Snowflakes. I pulled out a piece of white cardstock that I trimmed down to 11x11 and matted it onto the Nightfall pattern paper. I then matted my layout onto the beautiful Cozy Cardigan 12x12 paper.

Vertical Designs are one of my favorites so I had that in mind when creating this page. I laid out the large Mix & Match snowflakes first. Then I placed snowflakes from the Winter Wonderland Odds & Ends pack all along the left side of my page. This pack of Odds & Ends includes cardstock and acetate pieces.

For some added dimension I popped up some of the snowflakes using foam adhesive. Once I had a good amount of die cut pieces down I pulled in some different packs of Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles.

My photos fit nicely in the center of all the snowflake goodness! I backed them with a piece of pattern paper from the Winter Wonderland 6x6 paper pad.

For my title I used two of the Winter Wonderland Chit Chat pieces and created two small embellishment cluster around the title. To finish off the layout I added in some word stickers from the Winter Wonderland 12x12 sticker sheet.

To add a little something extra to my page I went in and added in some splatters using white acrylic paint and silver mist. Thanks so much for stopping by the Doodlebug Blog today!

LET IT SNOW WINTER WONDERLAND LAYOUT | with Erica

Hey friends! I am excited to be sharing my first layout using the Let It Snow collection!

I started with the Wonderland Cut Out from Bella Blvd to back with papers from the Let It Snow 6x6 paper pad!

I used the North Pole 12x12 pattern paper as my base and trimmed it down to 11.50x11.50. I matted it onto the Frosty Floral paper which is one of my favorite papers from the collection!

To help the cut out snowflakes stand out a little on the layout I added some shape sprinkle snowflakes to the centers. I used some icon stickers and mini icon stickers from Let It Snow to add around the cut out.

The photo I am documenting is from this years Christmas Walk in my hometown. One of the shops had this big photo wall and I thought it was perfect to go along with this collection!

I just had to use one of the new shaker doodle pops on my page and the Snow Cut one was perfect! Here is a look at my completed layout!

Thanks so much for stopping by I hope you have a wonderful day!

PETITE PRINTS EXPLOSION BOXES | with Stephanie

Hello friends, Stephanie here today sharing two Winter themed Exploding Box cards I made using a few Doodlebug basics.  I used this cut file and my Silhouette machine as well as some Petite Prints and pattern papers to cut the boxes. I used Sunshine Alphabet stickers to create the greetings inside.

Here is an up close look at the boxes before opening them and revealing what’s inside.

For the first box I went with a Birthday theme. I cut a framed scallop circle using Doodlebug’s largest nesting scallop die and a sentiment from the Winter Wonderland Forest Friends stamp set with the cutest Moose (named Bruce) Doodle Pop sticker for the top.

When you remove the lid from the top, the box “explodes” open revealing a Birthday greeting. The digital cut file has four layers to it (plus the lid), so you could go all out decorating each one, but I kept my layers fairly simple. For my first, bottom layer I used a pretty floral pattern from the Winter Wonderland collection with subsequent layers using coordinating petite prints. I wanted my Happy, Happy Birthday message to be part of the main focal point and I used white and pink Sunshine Alphabet stickers for that.

Open the tiny blue envelope in the middle to reveal the cute images and final message inside.

The second box features the cutest yeti and 'Sending Love Your Way' and 'Love You Big Time' messages.

I think these exploding boxes turned out really cute. My daughter suggested putting little treats inside which would be fun too.  Open the box to reveal treats AND happy little greetings. Well, that does it for my project share. As always, thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

PETITE PRINTS POCKET PAGES | with Traci

Happy New Year!  For today's project, I decided to pull out my granddaughter's 8x8 album and work on some pages for January.  I had fun making pocket page elements, using Doodlebug basics like petite prints, twine, an envelope, a doily and sprinkles!!

First off, can we talk about the Doodlebug 8x8 albums?  Love, love, love them!!  Not only is the quality AMAZING, and they come in all the Doodlebug colors, but the sizes and variety of pocket pages are perfect for creating fun interactive layouts!

For my monthly title page, I used blue jean and swimming pool petite prints and Sunshine alpha stickers to set the stage for my pages to come.  A few little odds & ends from the Winter Wonderland collection added some adorable details.

My first pocket page is a 4x4 design.  Does the upper left square look like pattern paper?  It isn't!  I had fun creating this card with border stickers and paper frills!  There are so many different frills in a package that it was fun to mix and match.  And of course, that adorable Polly polar bear DoodlePop with her sneaky grin is just too cute!

For the lower right pocket, I added a cute 3x3 envelope to my insert card.  A few more Sunshine alpha stickers, a tag with twine, and a few Frosty Fellow DoodlePops finished up my pocket.  Won't a photo and some journaling look cute tucked into the envelope?

For another interactive piece, I created a "flippie" (my word for cards that flip up) in my upper left pocket on this page.  A pretty doily and some frosty buttons were perfect for the pictures that will go on this page ... after all, my granddaughter IS cute as a button ;) !

Isn't that line of colorful mini heart sprinkles pretty??  It just makes me so happy!

Finally, for this page I created a title for the top pocket using more of the Sunshine alpha stickers and a border strip from a sheet of Winter Wonderland paper.

Thanks so much for letting me share a few of my pages with you!  Having basic Doodlebug supplies like petite prints, alpha stickers, sprinkles and twine on hand, always makes creating with any collection just that much more fun!  I hope you are having a wonderful, crafty start to the new year!!
