Shaker Tags | with Anabelle

Shaker projects have definitely taken the paper crafting industry by storm as we see more and more creations popping up with little shakers filled with the sweetest ephemera. And as I'm so in love with Doodlebug sequins I knew I wanted to make some shaker tags combined with the Cream & Sugar collection and a little touch of glitter too.

First, I found some pocket page protectors that I have in my stash. I used both 3 by 4 and 4 by 6 sizes. I cut them apart and stitched any open sides (leaving one side open). Then I slid in the papers.
In the past, when I've made shaker cards, I've poured the sequins in right from the bottle. Sometimes they would stick together due to the static. This time I wanted to mix colors and add glitter and seed beads. So, I poured everything into a glass dish and mixed them together before pouring them into the pocket.
One thing that I found out was to leave the glitter out of the glass bowl. It stuck to the sides. So, I added it directly to the pocket and it mixed with the sequins much better.
Once I added the sequin mix, I stitched the final side closed. You can use a fuse tool if you have one.
Then, I decorated! I loved adding the extra stickers, die cuts, enamel dots and other embellishments.

The two cards above are 4 by 6. I added some twine to create a bow and stitched folded doilies on them to give them even more dimension.
These two cards are 3 by 4. I let the large sticker hang off the side. It gives it a fun look. Just rub it against the carpet to remove the stickiness.

Here's a look at all of the cards together. I love how fun and festive they look!
Definitely give shaker cards a try. They are really easy and fun to make.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day.

Chit Chat Focus | Planner Pages by Anabelle

Thank you for all the comments we recieved
from people wanting to know how Anabelle put together the little paper clips using the So Punny icons. Anabelle has been so kind to take a few photos and add a blurb explaining her process. We're sure this will help answer your questions. Scroll to the bottom of this post to find the new information.

There are many fun ways to use the So Punny Chit Chats on projects. They are paired so perfectly with the cute little characters in the line. But, they aren't just limited to that line. I decided to create my weekly planner spread using the Cream and Sugar collection. I seriously can't get enough of the cute coffee and donuts motifs and wanted to mix the Chit Chats with them. It worked perfectly! The little sayings worked wonderfully with the characters from this collection, as well.

Here is the result. I love the coffee and donut washi tapes, so I had to incorporate them into my layout. I was able to use the Doodlepop clips I had made a while back, too.

I made this pocket to add to my spread. I absolutely love the plaid paper so I had to use it for that. Since my theme was rather 'sweet' this week, I added the large 'SWEET' chit chat to the pocket. I tucked some stickers and another chit chat inside of it.

As you can see, the little characters from the Cream and Sugar line were a perfect match for the speech bubbles.

The coffee and tea were made for this adorable chit chat, don't you think?
And I love the coffee pot saying 'You turn me on." Really, these worked just perfectly with the collection!
While these were released as a Valentine's Day collection, they certainly can be used for so much more. I just loved pairing them with Cream and Sugar! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Planner Paper Clips
Making planner clips with Doodle Pops is easy and fun. It’s my favorite thing to do with them. All you need to do is hot glue the sticker to a paperclip. Then punch a round circle from card stock with a circle punch and adhere it to the back of the sticker to finish things off. Give it about 10 seconds to cool off and you are ready to go!

Cream & Sugar | Card Set by Brigit

I'm so happy to be back for another fun-filled year with Doodlebug! Today I have a couple of cards to share using the adorable Cream & Sugar collection.

I love making cards and this collection with its sweet treats, coffee, tea and hot cocoa embellishments made creating these so much fun. It was very easy to come up with five cards in no time.

The patterned paper used for all these cards are from the cream & sugar 6 x 6 paper pad. For this card, I used a couple stickers from the this & that sheet and the cake and notebook paper from the odds & ends pack. I added a piece of bubblegum daisy stripe petite print behind the notebook paper and finished with a ladybug mini clothespin.

This coffee cup odds & ends diecut is absolutely adorable! For some special touches, I added a little clear wink of stella to both hearts and some hand stitching. The speech bubble and sentiment are from the that & that sheet, I also used a piece of a mini swimming pool doily.

I think this is one of my favorite cards from the bunch. The diecuts are from the odds & ends pack except for the ampersand which is from a die. I added some cupcake and lily white sequins and a couple of sprinkles from the latte love and milk & cookies packs. There's a piece of swimming pool textured cardstock behind the first background layer.

This sentiment is cut from the tea time 12 x 12 sheet and diecuts from the odds & ends pack. to finish up this quick and easy card I added a couple of bon bon sequins.

For the last card like the others, I used odds & ends and paper from the 6 x 6 paper pad. Also used is a piece of paper from the rainbow gingham-linen petite print assortment pack, bubblegum mini doily, a teabag from the tea for two doodle pops and a mini heart clip.

I hope you've enjoyed these cards, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Cream & Sugar | Traveller's Notebook with Jennie + Video Tutorial

Hey, there!  Jennie here and I am so excited to share with you how I have set up my single travelers notebook using Doodlebug Designs Cream + Sugar collection.  I love the colors (oh so cute!) and the images (even cuter!) and it's the perfect way to create a cheerful planning space.
I am trying out a single pocket size Travelers Notebook for my main creative planner. I like to plan my memory planning in here and then keep some other fun items in here, as well.  I thought I'd try a single and see how I liked it.
IMG_7798
Where to begin with all that cute?!  How about with the dashboards?  They are inspiring and I think that is key.  Having something that makes you smile and want to open up your planner and that keeps you on track!
IMG_7801
This clear dashboard is durable yet cute thanks to the die cuts!  It definitely makes me want to flip through and see more!
IMG_7802
How about that cluster of die cuts and stickers on soft vellum?  It allows for decoration and distinction in a less harsh way.
IMG_7803
Die cuts are, of course, the star of the show!  Change them out on top based on your mood or what's going on. But, of course, dashboards aren't the only thing here.  We've got clips and cute storage solutions, too.
Want to see how all of this came together?
Check out my video sharing the set up and flip through of my functional + creative travellers notebook!

Cream & Sugar | Step Card Set by Karen

Happy New Year to everyone! I am so happy to be back with you and with Doodlebug for another term!
So, this time around with Cream & Sugar, I thought I would have some fun with cards. I am a huge fan of fun folds for cards - card making is actually where I started as a crafter, so I thought it was time to pull out the side-step card. Doodlebug makes it so easy with to pull together cards that are, well...delightful!

I am a huge fan of fun folds for cards - card making is actually where I started as a crafter, so I thought it was time to pull out the side-step card. Doodlebug makes it so easy with to pull together cards that are, well...delightful!

With so many different types of product to work with, every inch, piece and step is easy to fill with cuteness.

And if a side step card is not your jam, a traditional A2 might work for you! All of these cards were embellished with pieces from the Odds and Ends packs. This pack is perfect for cards this size - you can layer different die cuts to create fun dimension (both the yellow heart and the cart are different pieces).

I clustered similar theme pieces together on this card that reminded me of being in a tea shop! Couldn't get much sweeter than that.

In terms of sentiments, that part was easy too! I simply grabbed some stickers from the This & That sticker sheet , backed them with some paper from the 12x12 pack (although the 6x6 would be perfect too), and adhered them to the cards!

Nothing completes a card, layout or even planner page quite like sprinkles.

So there you have it - a cute set of three cards ready for Valentine's day next month, or any time that you want to send a little message that will make someone smile. For now, these little cuties are going to find a place in my crafty space because quite frankly, they make me happy! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs, Karen

Cream & Sugar: Pocket Letter with Nathalie

I am very excited to be sharing my first project on the blog today! I played with the Cream & Sugar collection to create a tea themed pocket letter. You see, I don't drink coffee but I love a good cup of tea!
I started with the 6x6 Cream & Sugar paper pack to create the backdrops then I selected and placed several die-cuts from the odds&ends pack (which I love!). I filled a pocket with more die-cuts and another with shape sprinkles from the Cake Shoppe collection. Everybody knows that you need cute little cakes with your tea, right?
For the top pocket above, I used some bon bon teensy type stickers and put a Hello cardstock sticker from the 12x12 Cream & Sugar sticker sheet on pop dots for extra dimension. I like to put things inside but also on top of the page protector.
For this pocket, I have included two cute clips from the coffee shop pack and added word stickers from the already mentioned 12x12 sheet. Pretty matte enamel dots and machine stitching add the finishing touches.
The idea with pocket letters is to send someone goodies and I have included quite a bit here, visible and not visible. I have written a note and placed it into my homemade envelope and I will add a variety of tea bags behind a couple of cards like this last one above.

Now, for a little surprise of my own, I would love to send this letter to a Doodlebug fan who likes tea! Enter the giveaway on my Instagram account: anounceofcreativity by Saturday, January 13th and go put on the kettle :)

Cream & Sugar | Cards with Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with some fun cards I created using the fabulous Cream & Sugar Collection!  I have to say that this is one of my all time favorite collections.  The little coffee cups, the sugar cubes, the sweet treats... all just too cute!  Take a peek...

For my first card, I used the coffee cups from the Odds & Ends Package and the cute "punny" sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock .  The card base is from this cut file that I altered to fit my needs.  I like this card because it can be used for Valentine's Day or you could send it "just because."

My next card is a shaker card.  I just love shaker cards!!!  I started by cutting a heart shape in my base, then filling the shaker with some Doodlebug sequins and some X's and O's I cut out using my Silhouette.  The sweet candy hugs and kisses from the Odds & Ends pack and the Hugs & Kisses sentiment from the Cake Sprinkles Double Sided Cardstock topped it all off!

My last card I think is my favorite.  I love puns.  I use them liberally.  It makes my daughter roll here eyes.  So when this idea popped into my head, I couldn't resist.  I used the donut and the coffee cup from the Odds & Ends, and added some speech bubbles I made using the Booville Bubble Sayings cut file, and finished it with the Happy Valentine's Day sticker from the This & That Sticker Sheet.  The easel card base was made using this cut file.

I can't wait to send these out!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Cream & Sugar | Sweet Layout by Anita

Hi there, happy holidays!
This week we are revisiting one of our most popular collections to-date 'Cream & Sugar' and I'm sharing a layout that I created by mixing things up a little and using donuts! It's not often I add sugary treats to my projects but seriously, who doesn’t love a pretty pink donut?

I began with white card stock backing it on light pink Sweet Shoppe Stripe patterned paper before machine stitching around the border. I then placed a panel strip of Bitsy Bouquet to the centre of the layout and adhered it down before adding another stitched border. And for some extra extra texture I used a small strip of Donut Shoppe Washi tape at the top and bottom of of the stitched patterned paper.

The Cream & Sugar patterned paper made a perfect matt for my photo which I placed slightly off centre as I wanted to add further embellishments. The large donut was fussy cut from two sheets of the 'Cake Sprinkles' patterned paper which I then layered using foam adhesive to create dimension to the piece before placing on top of the sweet little kraft envelope.

Then using some of the Cream and Sugar Odds and Ends I added a few more donut pieces to embellish the rest of the layout before placing a single Donut Doodle-Pop over my photo.

I hope I’ve given you some fun inspiration using this collection?
