FARMERS MARKET BITS AND PIECES CARDS | with Karen

A couple of weeks ago, I created a fun set of birthday cards with the new Farmers Market collection, focusing on the floral die cuts that coordinate with this collection. While I love the way those cards turned out, I don't always have the time to cut and put together all the pieces of the die cuts. So I thought I would see if I could create a similar look - this time with the Farmers Market Bits and Pieces.

All-three-2

Voila! Given that Thanksgiving in the US is around the corner, I decided to create thank-you cards for this set.

Just like with the flowers I cut out on the last set, I worked on layering the pieces and used foam adhesive to add some depth and dimension to the cards. I finished each one off with some Mini Jewels for a bit of sparkle.

All-three-1

I really love the way that these cards turned out as well, and I do have to say that they were significantly faster to complete! So, if time is a bit of crunch, let Doodlebug do some of the work for you and use the Bits and Pieces to get all the fun layers and designs you want on your cards! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs,

DOWN ON THE FARM CARDS | with Karen

So here's the thing - one of the things that I love about Doodlebug product are all the details you can find in the product designs. From the awesome printed papers to all the little shapes you can find in the Sprinkles and stickers, Doodlebug knows how to bring out the best in every product. But that does mean that sometimes I go a little overboard in my designs. MUST USE ALL THE CUTE PRODUCT!

So today, I decided to give myself a challenge - keep it clean and simple! I wanted to really features some of the cute detailed products, but with just one or two on each card. So here's the result:

Featuring the adorable Down on the Farm collection, I used the coordinating Cards & Envelopes together with some Doodlepops and some Shape Sprinkles and a few sentiments from the Chit Chat pack. That was really it!

This card, featuring the pig Doodlepop actually ended up being my favourite! I did add a few heats die cuts as well just for a bit more texture.

This card was actually inspired by the new shadowbox collection! I decided to fill the cute little peephole on the card with some shape sprinkles that tied to the sentiment. I love the fact that this one turned out gender neutral!

And finally, I did decide to use a few more elements on this card just to balance out the space a little more. A combination of a Doodlepop, a Shape Sprinkle and a few dies cuts, it's a few of each, but still a really simple design.

I honestly don't remember the last time I created a project that did not have a stitch of patterned paper on it, but I really love how these turned out (even if they took me forever to figure out and fiddle with - sometimes clean and simple just isn't so simple at all)! I hope you love them as much as I do!  Thanks for stopping by!

LET IT SNOW CARDS & ENVELOPES MINI ALBUM | with Ashley

Hi All! Today I am sharing a Christmas mini album project using the Let It Snow collection.

The base of all the pages are made using the Let it Snow Cards and Envelopes pack. Some of the cards have been cut in half to create extra pages.

I used my disc punch to make three holes in each of the "pages" and gathered all the cards and envelopes together using white discs.

When adhering all the pages together, I tried to use different styles and sizes back to back to create a more interactive and whimsical album.

I used several other elements from the collection to embellish. One was washi tape. I used all the different styles to line different pages of the album.

I also used items from the Bits and Pieces, Chit Chat, and Jewels backs for embellishing.

Some of the embellishments were popped up using foam tape to give extra dimension.

I hope you liked seeing details from this project. Happy Crafting!

CUTE & CRAFTY ACCORDION MINI ALBUM | with Traci

Hey Doodlebug friends! Today, I have a fun accordion style mini album to share with you that I made with the Cute and Crafty Collection, some 4x4 Doodlebug cards and that adorable little shaker pops. I was so excited to finally use this with it's colorful sequins!

I started with some Doodlebug tri-fold cards I found in my stash. They came from various card and envelope packs. Since Doodlebug's color schemes have been the same for 20 years, you can mix and match products from various collections and they will always match beautifully. I 💗 that!

To make this accordion album, I used 4 cards in bubblegum, limeade, swimming pool & cupcake. I adhered panel 3 of the tri-fold card to panel 1 of the card after it, until all 4 cards were connected.

I used a mix of the 12x12 patterned papers, 6x6 paper pad and white cardstock to cover each side of the card, creating a cute page and mat on both the front and back sides. Then I added die cut pieces and sprinkles throughout.

I love the new Bits and Pieces. There are 95 different die cuts in the package and I may have used half of them in this mini, lol! The flowers, leaves, cute tags and different shapes are the perfect accent with the colorful prints.

I used the window on the front of the card to act as a frame for the cute jar die cut and a 3x4 card from the Precious Posies paper to make a fun flip-up.

For these pink pages, I cut 2 die cuts (from the Bits and Pieces) in half for added interest and embellished with some adorable little enamel flower sprinkles. Love!

The Perfectly Plaid paper on the page above is so pretty and on the reverse side, there are 25 squares with adorable images. That's where I got the cute little Polaroid card from. I love adding folding elements to my albums and these are perfect for them.

I hope this mini album and the colorful Cute and Crafty collection inspires you to create a fun mini for your own memories. Happy crafting!

CUTE & CRAFTY FUN CARDS | with Karen

Doodlebug colours always brighten up my day. No matter how gloomy it is, when I open up my Doodlebug crafty stash, it is like the room just lights up. And do you know what I love just as much as Doodlebug colours? Doodlebug's Cute and Crafty collection! So today, I thought I would create some fun cards that pop with Doodlebug colours and feature the adorable Cute and Craft die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack!

Often times when I am making cards, I start with a simple A2 sized white base. But did you know that Doodlebug also offers cards base sets called Cards and Envelopes? Featuring all the Doodlebug colours, the card bases come in all sorts of fun shapes. They are an easy way to start cards that pop with colour!

For this little card set, I simple topped the card bases with some fun die cuts from the Odds and Ends pack. I chose images that went together to me in some way - like this cute assortment that I call "Dear Jane"!

Or this cute set that are all paint and colour themed...for the aptly named...

..."You colour my world" card! Can you guess the theme for the last card? It's "A cut above the rest"!

I can't help but smile when I see these fun shapes and images paired together with   these bright colours. I hope they bring as much Doodlebug sunshine to you as they did for me!Thanks for stopping by!

PUMPKIN SPICE CARD | with Karen

Need some World Cardmaking Day inspiration?  Check out this fall card created by Karen using the Pumpkin Spice Collection!

You don't need any special tools for this great card!  Karen started with the window card base from the Fall Assortment Cards and Envelopes.  She cut a frame using the plaid paper from the Pumpkin Spice 6x6 Pad, then added elements to the Odds & Ends Pack to create her little scene.

The inside of the card was created using the Happy Fall Shaped Sprinkles and a sentiment from the Chit Chat pieces!  We LOVE how the leaves show through the window of the card when it's closed!

Have you made any cards for World Cardmaking Day using Doodlebug?  Maybe playing along with today's sketch challenge?  Be sure to add your creations to our Facebook Page or tag us using #doodlebugWCMD2020 on Instagram!  We always love to see what you make with our products!

SWEET BABY BOY MINI ALBUM | with Shellye

What happens when you take a couple of the shaped card bases and your favorite Doodlebug Designs' collections? A fun and unique mini album!

Today we're focusing on some ways to incorporate the Confetti Sprinkles and new Sunshine Alpha Stickers, along with the Special Delivery Collection, in embellishing this cover and album!

I started with two of the brown card bases from the Cards & Envelopes-Special Delivery: 4.75 X 4.75 with the window opening and the 4.5 X 4.5 file folder shape.

The larger card was used to create the pocket cover for the mini album.  I modified the card by scoring two sections.  Placing the card onto a scoreboard, I scored at 4.25"; flipped it 180 degrees and scored again at 4.25".  From a strip of paper I cut two 4"X1" strips.  The strips were scored at 1/2" and 3/4" and glue inside of the card as shown below:

Next, I cut a 3.5X3.5 square of patterned paper and attached it behind the opening of the card.  I chose a print with scattered dots and then highlighted them with various sized dots from the Confetti Sprinkles!

When adding the "Our Boy" I first used three layers of the Bon Bon colored letters and stacked them.  I followed the three layers with a single Lily White letter and slightly off-set them.  I love the 3D, shadowed-look that it gives!  A few of the heart shapes from the Confetti Sprinkles were also used.

For the little album inside, I simply used the file folder card as the cover to strips of folded patterned paper.  I attached one of the Sunshine heart stickers and baby blue star sprinkle to the tab and added a 3X4 card to the front.  The sun on the card was accented with a Doodle Pop sun!

With the various sized dots found on the Confetti Sprinkle sheet, you can add little cheeks or big cheeks!

Here I used one of the "X" Sunshine stickers to mimic a hand-stitched accent.

The patterned papers were cut into 8.25"X3.5" strips, folded in the middle and then sandwiched together.  I used white elastic cording to hold the pages in place and then wrapped it around the file folder card.

Please tune in to my YouTube Channel where I will have a tutorial of a similar project!
