FAIRY GARDEN CREATE-A-CARD MINI ALBUM | with Shellye

The new Doodlebug fairies are loving their new home tucked inside this sweet card-envelope mini album! "Fairy Garden" is filled to the brim with mushroom houses, garden critters and of course, colorful fairy girls!

I've taken a pack of assorted cards and envelopes, a few 6X6 papers and journal cards to create the pages of this chunky little mini.  I'm happy to share a quick little YouTube video of how I put the pages together, so I hope you'll check it out!

As you can see, I've stacked and staggered the cards and envelopes by shape and color.  In between the layers of those, I've also added sheets of 6X6 papers that have been folded in half.  Also, a couple of pieces of the 3X4 journal cards that were side-by-side and then folded in half.

The envelopes were slightly modified (shown in video) by cutting the closure flap in half so that it will open on both sides of the fold. I also cut away the flaps on a few of the envelopes.  Fill the pockets with tags and journal cards!

The pages were embellished with die-cuts, washi tapes, stickers, sprinkles and more!

For the longer journal cards, I folded them in half and then used a cute clip to hold it closed.  Leftover strips of paper were turned into tabs that I added to some of the smaller pages.  I love all of the staggers of colors and patterns popping out as you move throughout the album!

Again, I have a pretty short video on how I started with this album and a bit of the process of putting it together: YouTube Video.  I hope you'll give it a try!

PUMPKIN SPICE CARDS | with Tya

Hi there! Welcome to the blog today! Well...a new collection means a new batch of handmade cards - YAY! From the moment I saw the Pumpkin Spice collection, I was SOOO excited to be able to make cards with it!

This time around I decided to use the Cards and Envelopes kit that coordinates with this collection.  Full of browns, teals, and oranges, these card bases and envelopes made putting together these cards very quick and easy! The fun shapes of the card bases are so great too!

Here are the close-ups of each of my cards. These were decorated with the help of the 6x6 paper pad, the Chit Chat and Odds and Ends die cuts, various Sprinkles and Sprinkle Shapes, some Doodlepops, twine, and a few stickers from the This and That Sticker Sheet.

Like I said before, I loved working with the Pumpkin Spice collection and can't wait to give these cards out to brighten someone's day! I hope I have inspired you to pick this collection up and make a few cards of your own! Thank you for stopping by today - Happy Crafting Friends!

MONOCHROMATIC CARDS | with Karen

I don't know about you, but sometimes I can get into a bit of a rut with my projects. Sometimes they all start looking the same! So when Doodlebug released the new Confetti Shape Sprinkles and Sunshine Alphas, I decided to challenge myself to do something totally different! No stamps, no patterned paper! WHAT?! The best part? I love how this project turned out!

I went for a monochromatic look by choosing some Confetti Shape Sprinkles and Sunshine Alphas that matched some of the Doodlebug Cards and Envelopes sets that I happen to love!

Using some of the card bases that have a cutout window, I simply filled the shape in with the Sprinkles. I love that when you open the card, the Sprinkles create the shape of the window!

I then grabbed some of the Sunshine alphas and decided on some generic sentiments for my cards. With the help of my trusty tweezers, I had them centered and place in no time!

It's a subtle and simple card but packs all the Doodlebug cuteness we have all come to love!

I can't wait to mix up the colours in some of my future projects! These two products are definitely going to become a staple in my crafting collection...er...I mean, supplies!  Thanks for stopping by!

CHRISTMAS MAGIC CARD SET | with Tya

Ahhhh - can you feel it? It's always such a magical time of year right now - the weeks leading up to Christmas are indeed magical! And what better way to celebrate this festive time of year than with a  few handmade cards featuring the  "Christmas Magic" collection!

I used another bunch of card bases from the Create-a-Card sets. They really do take all the guesswork out of creating card bases, plus I love all the different designs of each card base. Here are some close-ups of each of the cards:

This card is so fun with all of the gingerbread and candy designs. I love adding shape sprinkles like the gumdrops and swirl candies to the  Odds and Ends to add dimension. And how fun are the tiny white hear sprinkles on the scallop edge of the card. It reminds me of icing!
I love the long pine bough die-cut found in the Odds and Ends. I trimmed this one in half so it stretched across the whole card base and then covered the cut with one of the Chit Chat die-cuts. It's fun to repurpose the die-cuts to make them work for your design.
The ornaments are so darling in the collection! As you can see I added a bit of Ladybug Bakers Twine to the tops of the ornament die-cuts. Simply punch a small hole in the top, and lace the twine through! Another fun way to add a little personal touch to the premade die-cut.
These tall skinny card bases are some of my favorites! It was perfect for the tall Christmas tree die-cut. Simply add a few sprinkles and you've got some shiny ornaments on that tree! The little Doodlepop Elves are so cute with their little presents under the tree!
I love the size of all the Santas that are found in the Odds and Ends. This one, in particular, has my heart - YeeHaw Santa! The file folder shape of this card is fun to turn on its side to have the flap on the right instead of on the top. Try that next time you use one of these cards!
And I saved my favorite die cut from the  Odds and Ends for last.  How CUTE is this little gang of elves packing  Santa's sleigh up with all the gifts! All of their cute faces and jingle bell hats were the perfect touches to this large card base. I added a few Sprinkle Shapes, stickers and a ticket from the Chit Chat to decorate this card. Isn't the yellow in this collection a bright addition to the typical Christmas color pallet?
That's all I have for you today! It was just the most fun making all of these cards with the wonderful "Christmas Magic" collection. I hope I have inspired you to grab all of the bits and pieces of this collection and make a batch of cards for your loved ones this holiday season!  Make sure you share them with us so we can see your creations! Happy Holidays and  Happy Crafting!

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY 2019 | Making Mini Cards

Have you ever made a 'mini card'?
They are perfect for sending little notes
or even popping into school lunches!
And, they are ideal at Halloween
to accompany bags of candy!

WCMD 2019 MINI CARDS BY TYA:
Can I just say how much I love these mini cards that Doodlebug makes! I love these little guys! They are perfect for sending just a little note to someone and I have to admit- they are SUPER fun to decorate! Here are the four that I made:
Let's get a close up of these cuties:
This one is made using the Limeade Mini Stitched card base from the Create-a-Cards. The cute purple paper is from the 6x6 Paper Pad, the burst pattern is a new pattern for us and I am LOVING it! I was especially excited that they had them in the 6x6 paper pads. The cute Spider-Boy is from the "Odds and Ends" die cuts. I added some black sprinkles to the eyeballs for some added shine. The small phrase stickers are from the "This and That" Sticker Sheet.
This little cutie is a Doodlepop and she is called "Hazel" - ADORABLE!!!  Doodlepops are a great addition to these smaller cards. The card base here is the Beetle Black Mini Scallop card. The orange paper is from the 6x6 Paper Pad. I mounted Hazel on some white cardstock and then added the "Hocus Pocus" die-cut to the top right and it is from the "Chit Chat" die cuts.
This card has is what Halloween is all about - the CANDY!! The card base here is the Bubblegum Mini Scallop card. I added a mini Swimming Pool Doily to the card base and then punched out a circle from a paper punch. The sucker and candy corn are from the "Odds and Ends" die cuts and the "Candy" speech bubble is from the "Chit Chat" die cuts. the enamel candy is from the adorable "Tiny Treats" Shape Sprinkles.
This last card is a quick and simple one - Sometimes all you need is a cute sticker and some even cuter pattern paper and you have a great card!  The card base here is the Swimming Pool Mini Stitched card. The Gone Batty Sticker is from the "This and That" Sticker Sheet. I also used the purple scallop border sticker that is also from the "This and  That" Sticker Sheet. I added 2 star  "Cute Clips" for some finishing touches on this card. Sometimes simple is better :)
