HEY PUMPKIN HALLOWEEN MINI NOTEBOOKS | with Miguel

Talking about Halloween is talking about a lot of fun, sweets and big surprises! Today I created these mini notebooks with the Hey Pumpkin collection.  They are  perfect to give to children and adults!

All these little goodies are ready to be given as gifts inside this beautiful ghost bag I found that matches perfectly with the collection!

The little notebooks are made using papers from the  collection and also some puffy icons to give them that fun dimension and shine.

I wrapped them up in cellophane bags and added a fun bag topper tied with some Doodle Twine.

Thank you! for stopping by here, wishing you a happy Halloween full of surprises and of course many scares haha.

SNOW MUCH FUN MINI NOTEBOOKS | with Guest Designer Shara Crane

Hello,  my name is Shara Crane and I am an avid paper crafter that loves all things off the page. Some of my favorite things to make are banners, mini albums and travelers notebooks. I am a mother of two boys (10/14) whom have zero interest in my crafty room, which is just fine with me LOL. I am so happy to be able to share these mini notebooks with you. I used Doodlebug’s new collection Snow Much Fun to create two mini notebooks.  I put together a tutorial for you, so that you can make your own!  The supplies I used are listed below the post.

Everyone can use a fun little notebook!  Follow these steps if you too would like to make one for yourself!

Step 1. I always like to select my papers first. This step takes me quite some time. To me it’s the most important part, the so called foundation, body, heart and soul to your project so take your time and enjoy the process.

Step 2. Cut your pages down to the size you wish to make your notebook. The ones seen here are 4x6. If you have a close look at my “foundation” you will see I used 4 different pieces of paper. One was 4x6 and was the very base. The other three I ripped giving a torn effect on the page. In order to do this take one of your 4x6 papers (using scraps here is super helpful and saves you cutting into a 12x12 piece of paper) and hold the paper with both your left and right hand. Now tear the paper so your right hand goes away from your body and your left hand pulls towards, this step is important because if you do it the other way your paper won’t show the white core and that’s what gives the best torn effect. Now layer your pages in the order you wish.

Step 3. Using ephemera, stickers and sprinkles decorate the cover. Have fun. Put things all over or just a few things here and there. This is your art so make it as you wish. Take your printer/lined paper and cut it down to the size you made your notebook. The Thermal Cinch spin I used was 1/4in and it took about 50 sheets of printer paper to fill the book.

Step 4. Now it’s time to bind the book. Follow the directions on the Thermal Cinch, it’s quick and easy to use. Now sit back, hold your book and smile YOU MADE THAT!

I also sewed my covers before I bound them and added some fun trims! The possibilities are endless

I also sewed my covers before I bound them and added some fun trims! The possibilities are endless.  I will be back later today with another fun project!

CUTE & CRAFTY MINI NOTEBOOKS | with Nathalie

Raise your hand if you keep small notebooks in your purse?   If your raised your hands, then I am sure you have a few small notebooks where you add notes, ideas, etc.  I always carry at least 1-2 notebooks (and a TN) with me, but like to customize them so that it is easier to sort them out.  And what better way to make them unique than to use the beautiful Cute & Crafty collection. Let me show you!

My little notebooks are 4.5x6.5", and come with a simple white cover.  I chose to cover them with some of the pattern paper from the Cute and Crafty collection.  I chose simple patterns so that I can  customize each cover with the theme of the notebook...

My Ideas notebook has a piece of Chit Chat ( Handmade with Love) in the cover.   I always keep my covers simple as they sit inside a passport TN, so this reduces the bulk of the notebooks. For my title page, I trimmed a strip of the small stickers and used it to create the "washi" lines.  Then just added a title and a few stickers.

For my Sketch notebook, I chose to mat the sketchbook and pencils inside a round tag (Bits and Pieces pack).  For my title page, I ran a bit of washi tape, then added a few stickers to create the title ( I am not adding much more, as I need a smooth surface when drawing down ideas)

For my Notes notebook, I chose the typewriter Icon, and added a small Chit Chat piece for the cover.  My title page,  has a bit of washi tape, and just a few stickers to complement the theme of the notebook.

I love how these turned out, and how cute they look inside my TN.   I hope these inspire you to customize your notebooks using the beautiful DOODLEBUG Design collections.  XO

SCHOOL DAYS MINI SHAKER NOTEBOOKS | with Stephanie

Hello Doodlebug friends!  Stephanie here, and today I’m sharing some mini shaker notebooks I made using the School Days Collection.

I found a pack of blank kraft notebooks on Amazon that are 4 1/4" by 5 1/2" - the exact size of an A2 card.  I chose a few 12 by 12 papers and trimmed them down to 8 1/2” by 5 1/2” and adhered them to the front cover with a strong double sided tape.  Next, I cut my apple and star shakers using shaped dies, solid color petite prints, foam and acetate and glued them to the front of the notebooks.  Of course you need  some sequins and seed beads or other toppings for the inside of the shaker!

I used one of the All Occasion Doodle Cuts Large tag dies and black Sunshine alphabet stickers for the top title.

Next, I decorated the inside cover and first page of each book using paper from the 6x6 pad, some This and That stickers and Odds and Ends die cuts.

That’s all there is to it. You can definitely create your own notebooks with kraft cardstock and white printer paper and a stapler without too much trouble, I just had the notebooks on hand ready to decorate and embellish.  Of course these have a school theme, but use whatever collections you have and make a notebook to throw in your bag or backpack or kitchen drawer for notes or shopping lists or whatever!
