Off The Page Challenge: Fairy Tales Gift Bags by Wendy Sue

Happy Saturday Doodlebug friends! It's Wendy Sue here with you today, sharing the project I created for our team-wide "Off the Page" Challenge!  I love having cards, gift bags, and tags on hand so I can wrap a gift in a fun, unique way at a moment's notice.  I recently took note that my stash of gift bags for girls was getting really low - so I took this opportunity to stock up my stash!  Here's what I created using the darling "Fairy Tales" collection:

Let me show you some of the details!  I used patterned papers, including the 4x4 cards on each bag.  On this one, I really wanted to use those sparkly rainbow sprinkles, they are just too cute!

Don't you agree?

Here's the next bag - I used some cute heart sprinkles in place of the raindrops below the clouds.

Speaking of clouds, I layered several different types and I love how they just pop right off the bag:

And finally, the cutest dang cupcake doodle-pop ever is the star of this bag:

I hope you've been inspired by our team over the last few weeks to take these adorable Doodlebug products to a new level, off the page, and create some fun projects for yourself!  Thanks for popping in - have a great weekend!

Off the Page Challenge: Wood Letter Decor by Mendi

Hello Doodlebugs!  It's Mendi here today with a fun idea for kid's room decor using Doodlebug's adorable Fairy Tales collection!   I bought these 12" high wood monogram letters at my local craft store just over five years ago when we moved to a new home, but sadly the project kept getting pushed to the back burner.  I decided it was time to finally decorate them for my daughter before she's too old to enjoy them or leaves home.  ;)

For all of my letters, I started by tracing them face down onto the backside of the papers I wanted to use.  I then fussy cut them out and stitched around the borders of them before adhering them to the wood piece with liquid adhesive.

I wanted to have each letter be embellished in a unique way, but have them come together in one cohesive project.  For the letter "A" I pulled out bits of ribbon from my stash and wrapped the pieces around to the back of my paper cutout before adhering them to the wood.

Three simple, yet completely adorable flower buttons dress up my letter "Y".

For my "L" I die-cut 4 diamonds from my favorite petite prints and stitched around them before adhering them to my piece to form an argyle print.  I then used some of the adorable sprinkles from the collection to embellish them.

For my letter "E" I used a swiss dot print with some of the darling icon sticker balloons and the unicorn from the odds & ends pack.  Before adhering the letter to the wood, I poked holes on either side of the balloons and stitched around them using an embroidery needle to give the appearance the baker twine strings are tied on.

I kept my last letter fairly simple since the print had a lot going on visually.  I added some random glitter sprinkles from the collection to give the polka-dots extra interest.  I love the way they look!

This collection makes this 80's girl with her rainbow heart skip a beat!  I hope I've inspired you to use some of your favorite Doodlebug papers for a home decor project too!

Off the Page Challenge: Pocket Tag Mini Album by Virginia

Greetings! Hope you have been inspired by the off-the-page projects here on the blog.  For this challenge I made a pocket tag mini book.  This is a great way to showcase your memories in a fun and compact format.  By keeping the pocket tags clipped together on a ring, you can keep adding to the mini with more photos at your own pace.

The base pages of my pocket tag mini album are made from 3.5"x11" strips of card stock.  Score and fold each strip at the 5 inch mark, adhere the sides together and you have an instant pocket tags! Embellish the outside with photos/ephemera and tuck a journaling card into the pocket to document those special moments!

The theme of my mini is school graduation and the Hats Off collection is so perfect to cherish this milestone.  Another awesome project could be a collection timeline of those yearly school photos!

Off the Page Challenge: Planner/Calendar Love by Jomelle Gomez

Good Morning Doodlebug Fans! Jomelle here today. August is my Birthday Month and I wanted to create something that I can display in my craft room. Our challenge was to create something off the page. As a planner girl, off the page means a project not in my planner. What can be more perfect than the Monthly Layout for August using the Swimming Pool Daily doodles double sided cardstock.

I then used the White Clip art Clipboard to display my Calendar layout.

August 11 is my Birthday. I used the cake shoppe shape sprinkles and the teensy type on this day. I actually have to work on my Birthday. My family and I will have to celebrate on Monday.

Instead of using my handwriting, I decided to use the teensy type to create my plan for the days. I thought it adds more color to my calendar.

Our family loves to watch new release movie together. The only problem with that is my one year old daughter. We took her one time to watch the new Beauty and the Beast, and boy was that the biggest mistake. She ran around the whole theater playing and yelling.

I just love adding sprinkles randomly in my layout. They just add a cute finishing touch.

As a planner girl, I love going to a planner meet. I get to see my planner friends and I also get to meet new ones.

August is also the month of our Anniversary. This year my husband and I are celebrating our 15 years Anniversary. I am hoping to go on a date with him on this day without our kids tagging along.

My family loves going on a Road Trip. I think we may drive up North for this weekend to visit my cousins. This may be my boys last road trip before school starts. I also started using doilies in my layout.

That's all for today. Thank you for stopping by.

Off the Page Challenge: WILD Treat Holders by Brigit Mann

Hello Doodlebug Fans, it's Brigit here today, sharing a couple of candy caddies I made for this off the page challenge. For those that don't know an off the page project can be anything but a traditional scrapbook page.

These treat holders are great for a child's birthday party and the At The Zoo collection makes them that much more special! I used a die from Jaded Blossom to cut out the three caddies from the zippity zoo dotszoo friends and roly poly pandas paper.

To decorate I used borders from the safari plaid sheet and stickers from the icon sheet 1 and icon sheet 2.  On this one, I used tangerine chunky twine.

This has swimming pool chunky twine.

And the last I used bon bon chunky twine.

For the inside box that holds the candy I used paper from the rainbow swiss dots petite prints pack.

I hope you've enjoyed these candy caddies, thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Off the Page Challenge: Cupcake Holders & Toppers by Courtney

Hello everyone and welcome to our Off the Page Challenge here at doodlebug design! This is Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts showing you how I jazzed up some cupcakes for my daughter's 5th birthday party.

I used a cupcake holder cut file and cut it quite a few times. I loved the way the stars were cut out and added some personality to the cupcake holders.

The real star of this display were the odds and ends though! Aren't they darling!? I just hot glued them to some toothpicks and pushed them in.

I tried to place the tooth pics so most of the rainbow stars would just be shooting out of the cupcakes. :)

She loved them and so did the guests and it was really a quick project!

I hope you are all enjoying this special challenge and find some time to make something today!

Off the Page Challenge: Unicorn Birthday Party by Caroli

Hello peeps, how are you? Caroli here and today I want to share a project I made using some Doodlebug goodness.

This month the Design Team was challenged to make an off the page project and I really loved this idea! Since I'm currently working on the birthday party of my little girl -which happens to be Unicorn themed- I decided to use gorgeous Fairy Tales collection to make some stuff for the party.

First thing I made is this invitation card. I kept it simple because later I will scan it and use it in a digital format, including the party information (when, where, what time) and send it to friends and family.

The card says #Isicumple9, which means "Isi turns 9" and is the hashtag I will use for the party related pics, so friends and family can find them all together on Instagram.

I also decorated some white paper bags I will use to give some party favors to the little ladies attending to the event. I used this cute unicorn crown cutfile and some cardstock and patterned paper from Doodlebug.

Finally, I made some masks, which I also decorated with the unicorn crown cutfile. I bet all the little girls (and probably also the not so little ones!) will love to wear these

Here is the full set. I love how cute and sweet they are!

I am working in some other paper projects for this party, also using Doodlebug Design stuff, if you want to see how the party comes out you can follow me on Instagram, I'm @papelisima.

Have an awesome day!
