CANDY CARNIVAL FOR INSECT BUG LOVERS | with Karen

One of my daughters is a huge fan of insects. She'll get out her magnifying glass an watch them do their work as they move through our yard. I, on the other hand would much rather watch them from a distance....so far away, in fact, that I don't even know they are there!
But any cute little critters that come from the Doodlebug warehouse are a whole different story! I am happy to get up and close with darling Doodlebug characters like the cute spider that inspired my newest treat containers.
I mean, come on! Does it get any cuter than this little guy?
I coloured him up with alcohol marker and double layered the stamp for a bit of extra dimension. I sat him on top of a spider web and just about the cutest spider themed paper you can imagine! A little sentiment cut from the 6x6 paper pad finishes it all off!
This little project may be crawling with spiders, but I am pretty sure my daughter isn't going to be the only fan. Doodlebug insects can crawl around on my crafty table any day!

Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,

LOTS O' LUCK - Planner Pages | with Jomelle

Rainbows, Hearts and Unicorns are so magical that they are the perfect combo to create a girly girl set up in my "lots o' dots" Daily Doodles Travel Planner. All the bright colors in this collection makes me really happy.
Here is my insert cover which of course is full of so many different elements which I layered. I used foam adhesive on the odds & ends pieces to give them that 3D look. I also used different color doilies. They are so fun to use in any projects. I also added pink and white poms poms to the edge of the insert covers.
Pretty Planner Pockets just brighten my day, don't you think so? Again I used some doilies to make it more fun. I just love love stuffing my planner pockets will beautiful elements.

Next I created my weekly layout for the first week of April. I am really excited since my family and I are going on vacation out of the country.
I used a blank grid insert from the summertime stripes assortment inserts. I love how I can customize each page and decide on spacing for each days.
Have you seen the new stamps? They are all so adorable. I decided to use the rainbows & unicorns that matches my set up. I'm not a hard core stamper so I just mainly used blank ink for the words. I also added flowers using pink and baby blue ink.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you were inspired by my Magical Planner set up with unicorns, rainbows and hearts.

Tuesday Tutorial: Quick Stamped Card

Have you seen the new Doodlebug stamps showing up at your favorite retail stores?  I was so inspired by them that I made a card and took some photos along the way and I hope you will find a tip or two in this post!
To make a birthday card, I stamped the balloon stamp in three different colors and then had them cut out. (If you haven't checked out the Doodlebug colors ink pads by Colorbox, get them now!)  Instead of using just a single thread of the doodle twine, I wanted a little more texture and thickness. You can see in the photo, I first secured the three pieces of twine onto a surface with some tape and then braided three pieces of twine as if braiding hair.  The result is more prominent looking strings to be attached to the back of the balloons. Then I staggered the three ballons onto the card for some 3-d effect.
After stamping the sentiment, I added the adorable lamb onto the card using 3d foam adhesives.  At first I was going to trim all the twines but it is visually more appealing to let three pieces show, so that's what I ended up doing.  Add a couple of jewels to the ballons and the card is finished!
