HOPPY EASTER | Easter Cards + Video with Barbara

Hello everyone, time is flying and Easter is just around the corner! I have a couple of cards today using the new Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cut dies.

For my first card, I created a scene with a hopping bunny. Yes, this bunny is "hopping down the bunny trail" hunting Easter eggs. I sponged the sky with ink and added some background greenery cut with a cloud cut file and Citrus Textured Card Stock. Next I added the "trail" made from Bon Bon Textured Card Stock, and the foreground from the Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Print collection with a couple of layers of card stock behind it for strength since it was adhered with foam tape.

I stamped the images from Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps with Copic-friendly ink, cut them out with the coordinating Doodle Cuts dies, and colored them with Copic markers. I created a "swing" mechanism before assembling the card so the bunny "hops" along the trail. Here's a short video showing the action:

How cute is that??? When that was done and working I added some clouds and the sentiment speech bubble from Hoppy Easter Odds & Ends. Once all that was done I adhered the whole thing to a white card stock base for the finish.

My second card shows another sweet scene--these bunnies are adorable! Again, I started with a sponged sky then added a strip of paper from the 6 x 6 Hoppy Easter Paper Pad for the card front. Then, I stamped the bows in a row with Copic-friendly ink, colored them in rainbow colors and adhered it to the bottom of a white card stock base.

Next I stamped, cut, and colored the super sweet images and stamped the sentiment on the card front. I adhered that to the base with foam tape and a narrow strip of Beetle Black Dot-Stripe Petite Prints paper, did the same with the colored images, and added a few clouds to complete the scene.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've gotten a few ideas for using YOUR Hoppy Easter Doodle Stamps and Doodle Cuts!

LOTS O' LUCK - 3D Brag Box | with Traci

You've heard of a "brag book"- like a little album Grandma keeps in her purse to share photos with her friends?  Well, how about a Brag Box?  I was playing with some 3D box cut files recently and found this one HERE by Lori Whitlock.  I love the darling little heart cut outs, and it gave me an idea for a cute photo project.

Check out this video to see the entire project, and then I'll give you some tips on making one for yourself!

After purchasing and downloading Lori's 3D heart box, I used my Silhouette software to enlarge the two box pieces so that the square in the center of the lid was 4x4".  I cut out both pieces and used a strong liquid glue to adhere them.

Next, I cut a small slit in the top of my box lid, and put one end of a  30" ribbon through the top of the lid.  I adhered the end to the top of the lid and covered it with several layers of card stock, cherry petite prints, and Lots of Luck pattern paper.

To add the enamel heart sprinkles to the white box base, I used a craft knife to position each heart through the cut outs in the lid.  I will definitely be getting more of these!  Love them!

For the photos, I adhered six 3.5"x3.5" white card stock squares along the ribbon and added 3.25"x3.25" pattern paper to the front and back of each square.  Each of my 12 photos were cropped to 3"x3" and adhered over the pattern paper mats.

Finally, I adhered 6 DoodlePop hearts (3 back to back) to finish off the end of the ribbon.  It was a fun way to showcase a few pictures of "the bug", aka my granddaughter :). Thanks for stopping by!

Cream & Sugar | Acrylic Album & Video with Traci

Happy New Year!  I'm so excited to be back on the Doodlebug design team for another year!
I always look forward to the latest Doodlebug collections, but for my first post of 2018, I'm looking back to one of the most popular, and adorable, collections of 2017 ... Cream & SugarI decided on an acrylic album for this project so I did a little video to show the clear pages a bit better, hope you like it?

I used papers from the 6x6 paper pad, stickers, and lots of sprinkles in this mini.

I also loaded the album up with Odds & Ends.  I had 2 packages, which came in really handy for matching up pieces on both sides of a clear page (like the cake on the cover, and the one shown above).

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!  I hope you all have a wonderful start to 2018!  Stop by Artsy Albums and say hello sometime!

Stitching Challenge: Beach Babe Layout by Kathy

Hi Everyone!  It's Kathy today with my Stitching Challenge project!  The Doodlebug Design Team members were challenged to create a project where stitching with Doodlebug Twine was the focus.  I decided to create stitching files on my Silhouette using the adorable Doodlebug Cut files!  Take a peek...

Since I wanted my stitching to be the focus, I kept my layout pretty simple...a grid design using some Gingham Linen Petite Prints and a few shaped sprinkles as embellishments.  I stitched using some Doodle Twine in Bumblebee, Coral (from the Spring Assortment, Bubble Blue, Swimming Pool, Bubblegum and Blue Jean.  Here are some close-ups of the stitched squares...

For these squares, I used the Silhouette cut files Sun- Fun in the Sun (here in Lori Whitlock SVG shop) and Clouds Spring Things (here in Lori Whitlock SVG shop)

The shell file is the Pearl Shell -Under the Sea Silhouette file (here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop) , the waves I created myself.

The sand dollar was created using the Sand Dollar Under the Sea Silhouette file (here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop),  The starfish is the Shell Under the Sea file (here in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop) and the fish is from  Fish - Anchors Aweigh file (here in the Lori Whitlock SVG shop).

I finished my layout with a simple title using some Skinny Alphas in Swimming Pool and some Stickers from the Under The Sea Icon Sheet.

And now something for you!  I put together this video tutorial showing how I created the stitch files using my Silhouette and Doodlebug cut files.

That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

Spring Things Collection: Amazing Acrylic Album by Traci of Artsy Albums (with bonus video)

Hi friends! ....  I'm back to share a new Doodlebug Spring Things mini album with you.  With their spring collection, Doodlebug introduced awesome new clear acetate die cuts in the Odd and Ends package.  I fell in love with these and was inspired to create an entire "clear" album.
I've created a short video for you, so that you can really see the acrylic pages and how the elements are layered.  Ignore my videography skills ... this is a new thing for me :)
This album is available as a pre-cut kit in my Artsy Albums shop if you are interested in making one!
for purchasing details.
I know you will love the new clear die-cuts and the entire Spring Things collection from Doodlebug!  Oh, and here's a tip -- be sure to peel off the thin plastic coating from the top of each clear die-cut.  I did this easily with a craft knife.   Happy crafting!!

Sugar Coated Bunny Canvas Video Tutorial

Easter time means "Easter Candy" and we are huge fans of those yummy sugar coated PEEPS! And even better this year they've released new "flavored" peeps...YES! Lemonade, Blueberry, Party Cake and Bumble gum. The popular flavor around the Doodlebug offices is definitely Party Cake. But we also love how Peeps remind us of our yummy Sugar Coating glitter in all the Doodlebug colors.

So we have a treat today, we're featuring the Doodlebug Sugar Coating Glitter and My Craft Channel's Inspired by Pinterest. Today you can choose to read OR WATCH a video on how to create a darling Glitter Bunny Canvas from Lori Allred.

Here's a some the step-by-step images if you'd like to pin them or like the extra visual.

Create silhouette with vinyl or paper.
Coat with acrylic paint.
Add glitter while paint is still wet.
Coat completely with glitter and pour off excess glitter.
Remove your stencil to reveal glitter bunny. Coat with clear
acrylic spray or hair spray to keep glitter from flaking off.

Our bonus project was one Lori created with Doodlebug Sugar Coated glitter and Doodlebug's new Springtime Collection.
