Christmas Town Gift Card & Treat Holder | with Karen

So this year, I decided to play around a little bit with a way to wrap a gift card and a treat all into one! With the help of Doodlebug's adorable Christmas Town collection, I present the gift card/treat wrap (original title, I know)! I am really happy with how these turned out! The base was simply created with some textured cardstock, with pieces of patterned paper from the 12x12 collection layered on top. On top of the base is a little 1.5" wide sleeve that was also created with the textured cardstock, topped off with coordinating patterned paper and then a cute border sticker from the 12x12 This and That sticker sheet. I then used some cute characters from the Odds and Ends pack and a little sentiment from the; Chit Chat pack. And when you slip the little sleeve off, it opens up to reveal... ...drum roll please... ...the gift card and treat (I know, I bet you guessed that)! A simple little pocket holds the chocolate bar in place, complete with a simple tag that my daughters can use to write a message. Oh, and I have a little bit of quick tip for you - if you are throwing a gift card into a card at the last minute (because hey, we have all been there), use a little washi tape to hold it in place! Not only does it save the card from falling out without the hassle of creating a little pocket, it is oh, so cute! For this project, the washi tape (called Tiny Town) was an easy way to feature the gift card without creating more bulk with another pocket. So there you have it - a couple of useful gift cards with a bit of extra Doodlebug cuteness and a yummy treat to get the teachers through that last day with the students before the break! I have a feeling that I will be making a few more of these for the holidays!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs,

Christmas Town Planner Pages | with Jennie

It's not Christmas yet, but it will be soon! I want to do something cute in my travelers notebook because it makes me so happy and helps me stay organized! I love the Christmas Town collection - it's perfect for all of my December Travelers Notebook pages!

I'm really enjoying planning my special days in a travelers notebook.  I can decorate and I can also keep track of activities and to-do lists.  Using the Chit Chat is so easy on these pages -- they really make the perfect accents!

I love using both the Chit Chat and the Odds & Ends in combination with patterned paper!  They are all just perfectly coordinated and I really love the kraft colored backgrounds included with this collection.  It just feels so perfect.

The Sprinkles; are the best embellishments in a planner -- their size is just amazing!  But I'm really loving them as bullet points!  They truly help me keep track of lists and other important things I need to remember.

I plan on keeping up this special insert all through the year.  It's such a cute and fun way to keep track of the days and events I have going on!

Christmas Town Mini Album | with Caroli

I love mini albums, and I love Christmas, so Christmas mini albums are my ultimate favorite project. If we add Doodlebug to this, the result is simply perfection! Today I want to share this mini album I made using pics of the Christmas party I throw every year with my friends. I have told you about it on a previous post here.
In this album I went for a super simple binding with screws, and worked in different levels and types of pages. I really love how dynamic and fun it came out. I closed the mini with a bow, using some grosgrain ribbon as ribbon never gets old! I also made the cover a bit smaller than the rest of the mini, this way you can see through the pages, I think it looks great.

As you may know, I love using vellum for writing my journaling as I love the transparency effect.
Of course, I decorated the page with a few die-cuts and alphas in coordinating colors.

On some of the pages I cut a big circle and used this as a sneak peek window to the next page. I love the effect it creates! I decorated the page with an insane amount of embellishments and I think this looks cute, what do you think?

Chit Chat packs are a great addition to the decoration of this album. I also love including little phrases here and there, along with photos or even with journaling pages.

With the purpose of making the design more interesting I created one fold-out page and lots of food photos. I baked cookies and cupcakes and we had a cold style egg nog as we are in the Southern Hemisphere so enjoy the cold drinks with the warmer weather.

I included two acetate pages just for fun, and decorated them with even more embellishments. I love how they add more bulk and interest to the album.

I covered the binding screws using some kraft cardstock, which I scored to make it more flexible.

I am so happy with how this mini came out, it's simple but filled with little all my favourite Doodlebug pieces! I hope you liked it too, if you have any question just leave me a comment.

Have a lovely day!
