LAND THAT I LOVE - TREAT BOXES | with Stephanie

July 4th is coming up and not only do I love decorating in red white and blue, I love to make festive cards and other paper crafts to give friends and family for this fun Summer Holiday.  I used the 'oh so cute' Land That I Love collection to make and decorate 3 treat boxes to go along with the cards and tags I shared on my last post. Here’s a look:
First up is actually more like a goodie bag, I die cut this using two pattern papers and a 2x2 cut apart as my focal point.  The happy little star is from the odds and ends pack and adhered with foam tape.  I finished it off with a clothespin bow at the top.
My second container is a 3 inch mini, clear, paint can I found on Amazon.  I measured my patterned paper to slip inside and secured with clear tape. The Porch Posie Doodle Pop sticker is front and center as well as the Hip Hip Hooray sentiment from odds and ends.  I tied several coordinating ribbons on either side of the handle and the Love die cut tied with twine on one side.  The lid is embelished similarly.

Lastly, and probaby my favorite of the three boxes is this simple little wagon. For some reason wagons remind me of hometown parades and seem to fit for July 4th festivities!  It’s a digital cut file I found at the Silhouette store here.  The double flags were the perfect finishing touch.

This was such a fun little set to put together.

I hope you enjoy your fun Fourth of July activities, and of course your creative paper crafting endeavors!

LAND THAT I LOVE DOUBLE PAGE LAYOUT | with Traci

Happy July friends!  I'm excited to share a 12x12 double page layout with you today!  July 4th is one of my favorite holidays so I'm having a lot of fun playing with the new Land That I Love collection.
For the first page, I layered 2 shades of blue pattern paper for my base and then added a 5 3/4" striped border down the left side.
I added a 5 1/4" white mat over the stripe, along with a 5x7 photo and some cute red gingham paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  How cute are the new Sunshine alpha stickers!  Love these!  I'm definitely getting some in every color.

For the second page, I decided to use some cute 3x3 squares from the 6x6 paper pad to create a grid.  Then I had fun adding lots of die cuts from the Odds & Ends.

I journaled about the day on plain white card stock, trimmed it into a tag shape, and tucked it into a small 3x3 pocket.  The cute starburst topper is from the icon stickers, and look! ... the
Sunshine alphas come with numbers too!

I hope I've given you a few ideas for a fun double page layout, and I hope you have a wonderful July 4th holiday!!  Be sure to take pictures of your Land That I Love projects and share them with us!  We love to see what you're creating!

LAND THAT I LOVE 8.5 X11 LAYOUT | with Maryám

The new Land That I Love collection from Doodlebug Design is full of red, white, and blue elements, as well as different patriotic icons that were designed to document all of the 4th of July activities in the United States. But did you know that this collection can also be used to celebrate some other countries? I am from Chile and lucky for us, we share the same colors of the American flag, which means I can use this collection to document our own patriotic celebrations too. Isn't that fun?!

For today's layout, I wanted to document a photo from a typical dish of the Chilean cuisine (Empanadas) that my mom made a couple of years ago to celebrate Independence Day. After I printed my photo, I started by looking through the papers from the collection and I choose the "America the Beautiful" and cut a piece 3.5 x 11" inches from it. Next, I grabbed my Craft Pick Tool and punch some holes around some of the hearts of the paper to add some hand-stitching details.

Next, I decided that my layout need some more texture so I grabbed the Mini Pinwheels Craft Kit and build three cute pinwheels for my layout and added a little sprinkleTM in the center. Even though these pinwheels are not from the Land That I Love collection, they match perfectly well with the line and they also add a nice touch of dimension to the page.

To continue with the process, I started adhering everything down and also added some embellishments- mainly cardstock stickers and sprinkles- to complete my design. Lastly, For the title, I decided to use one of the banners from the Odd&EndsTM set which says- "Hooray for the red, white & blue".

Let's take a look at the finished layout!

That is it for today! I hope this layout has inspired you to think of creative and different ways to use patriotic collections.

Thanks for stopping by. Have an awesome day!
