School Days Mini Album | with Tya

I have to admit- I am on such a mini-album kick lately! I just love creating these albums. Probably because I get to play with so many fun products! Today I am sharing my latest mini-album featuring the adorable School Days collection. This mini-album also features a box to store the album in. I have included an introduction and a walkthrough video of this mini-album but here are some still shots of the album.

 Here is just a small sample of pictures of the inside of the mini-album. The album measures 6 1/2 x 8 inches and is constructed using chipboard, cardstock and lots of  School Days products. It has 3 base pages with many fold-outs, flaps, and pockets for photos, journaling or memorabilia. I love all of the interactive elements in this album.

This project came together rather easily. The longest part was choosing how to decorate all the pages! (but that is honestly my favorite part so I don't mind too much) 😊

SCHOOL DAYS STATIONERY SETS | with Karen

I must confess, I'm addicted to stationary. Yes, it's true. I am not sure what it is, but give me cute sticky notes and pretty pencils and I am a happy gal! So when Doodlebug launched the new School Days collection, I squealed - yup, just like a pig in mud! Because the only thing better than sticky notes is sticky notes wrapped up in Doodlebug goodness! So I decided to whip up a couple of welcome back treats for my teaching colleagues. Designed to hold 3x3 sticky notes, these little holders feature the 6X6 paper collection together with stamps from the School Boy and School Girl Doodle stamps. To create the layered look of the stamped images, I simply did some masking, starting by stamping the image in the front (the pencil) and working backwards. The great part of masking is that you can create your own little scene that fits perfectly into the space you have on a project!
If the idea of masking is intimidating for you though, you can create the same look by stamping the images and then using the Doodle Cuts to cut out the ones you want to appear in the front (the easel and the apple). Use some foam adhesive to attach them and get some added dimension! And while you might not having teaching colleagues to welcome back, these would make great teacher appreciation gifts or even gifts for students. Write a personal little note on the top sticky note... ...and then close it up and sneak it inside a suitcase or care package for that college student you have in your life! Because quite frankly, with all that layered Doodlebug goodness, they are just as cute all closed up as they are open!
 

So there you have it - two of my favourite things all together in one cute project! I might actually have to go and make one for my own desk too! Now why didn't I think of that sooner?

SCHOOL DAYS - FIRST DAY OF KINDER LAYOUT | with Tegan

To say that I had fun documenting my niece's first day of kindergarten would be an understatement! The brand new Doodlebug Design School Days collection is full of whimsical colors and adorable icons! The cute paperclips, colorful stars, and smiling school supplies were a blast to work with! I can't wait to use this collection again! 

​I love that the Chit Chat die cut packs always have words that can be used for quick and fun titles, like the 'First Day' title here. The 'Just a Note' cut apart card from the Color Me Happy Patterned Paper makes a super fun spot for the journaling! I used the awesome rainbow striped Very Primary Patterned Paper to make top and bottom border strips. And aren't those crayon stickers and little girl sticker just the cutest?!

I wanted to somehow 'feature' the adorable Shape Sprinkles and Icon Stickers, so I die cut stars out of a few of the simple patterned papers of the collection. I used the star from the Doodlebug Design Lots O' Luck Lucky Shapes cut file set to create 3 1/2" stars from the blue star, black music note, and red dot patterned papers. I then used dark yellow embroidery floss to create a fun circle on the star to really make the stickers pop. And of course I used the You're A Star Shape Sprinkles to embellish around my big paper stars!

Craft paint, paperclips, and pencils - oh my! There are so many super fun elements in this collection that I can't picked any favorites! What are your favorite things in the School Days collection?!
