LOVE NOTES VALENTINE'S PLANNER SET UP | with Jomelle

Who remember making a mixtape? I remember it very well. When I first saw the "Love Notes" Collection, I was drawn to the cute little cassette tapes right away. It reminded me of my high school days. I grew up listening to the radio and trying to record the song that was playing in my cassette tape. You have to remember that I was in high school and recording songs in my cassette is a lot cheaper than buying an album.
I had so many emotions going through my mind while creating my Valentine's Planner Set Up. I was also reminiscing so many memories. I chose the 12x12 cardstock with the colorful mini hearts. I then added washi tapes on the top and bottom border.
I played around with the odds & ends since you have so many to choose from. I knew from the start that I wanted to use the cassette tapes doodle pops and the rest just came into place.
I folded the hearts to give it that 3D effect. I also added hearts and music notes sprinkles. There's no right or wrong way to decorate your front page, just have fun with it.
I stuffed my planner pockets with more odds & ends, playing with the pieces until I found the ones I want to use. I hope you can see the "our Song" is the main focal point, which goes very well with the theme I was aiming for.
Here is my "before the pen" weekly layout. I haven't decided if I want to use it for memory keeping or to write love letters to my husband every day for the month of February. I think love letters is very romantic and very sweet.
You can see that I placed more cassette tapes and music notes stickers throughout my layout.
I used the pink bubblegum teensy type stickers to add the days.
Thank you for stopping by. Stay tune to my next blog to find out what I have decided to use my weeks for the month of February.

LOVE NOTES HANMADE EMBELLISHMENTS | with Nathalie

I *heart* the new Love Notes collection and I want to scream it to the rooftops! It is full of lovely colors and little elements that made me jump to my craft desk to create these tiny banner embellishments (I guess I am still in my miniature phase if you remember the micro mini junk journal I shared a couple of weeks ago).

Each of these ended up measuring 1 3/4 by 2 inches. The base is created with patterned papers from the 6x6 paper pad and gold paperclips (from Staples). I cut 1 3/4x4 strips that I folded over the paperclips, adhered back to back and hand-cut into a banner shape.

The next step was to decorate each of them. I created layers with paper, doilies, washi tape or die-cuts. I then mostly combined stickers from the Mini Icons pack, oftentimes adding foam dots under for extra dimension. But I also played with textures by adding buttons, sequins, stitching or twine...

They make me so happy!

They can be used as embellishments into a planner, on a layout, into pockets. Or if you are able to part with them, they would make a cute little Valentine's Day gift for a friend.
I can't pick a favorite, can you?

LOVE NOTES Layout | with Caroli

Last year I experienced several changes in my life, all good changes which helped me to become a better and happier person. Self love is one of the things I learned last year and is what I wanted to document on this layout.

I went for a super simple design, cutting the word "self" from a sheet of patterned papers and filling the spaces with different things.
I used patterned paper from the 6x67 inches pad for filling some of the letters, the patterns are smaller so they fit better fot this purpose.
I also created embellishment clusters using the Odds & Ends packages and some Doodle Pops and Shape Sprinkles here and there. Machine stitching looks nice around the letters and gives more texture and volume to the project.

I wanted to use photos in a creative way here, so I used one for filling one of the letters of the word. I chose a photo that fit in the letter I wanted to fill, I think the effect is pretty.
Also, I printed the same photo in a smaller size and cut it as a circle to add a special detail.

Journaling is always something special for me, and here I backed one of the letter with a sheet of patterned paper with a very subtle patter, his way I was able to write my journaling over it.

Finally, for my title I cut the word "love" using my electronic cutting machine and free font "Learning Curve".

It's a all over the page design with lots of little details, different levels, machine stitching around the letters, it's very simple but special at the same time.

I am very happy with how this layout came out and what means to me, I am happy I am able to love myself a bit more everyday :) I hope you like this idea and maybe try something like this or use it as inspiration for a self love project.

Thank you for checking on us, have an amazing day!
